The EZGlyph Font Set
EZGlyph is a set of unicode fonts designed to work
seamlessly together to allow the user to create professional quality hieroglyphic
text directly in a Word document.
EZGlyph is fast and easy to use, with a quick learning curve.

All of the hieroglyphic texts on this site were created with EZGlyph.
EZGlyph consists of five font sets (Regular, Silhouette, Outline, Hieratic, and Prism) with
left and right facing families in each (except Hieratic which is right facing), that allow the input of Hieroglyphs directly into a Word document. EZGlyph
will also display any document created with EZGlyph Pro.
Once the characters have been inserted into the Word document you can
use standard Word commands (some of which are redefined in EZGlyph) to format the text:
BOLD - raises the character to the top
of the line and makes it transparent so that additional glyphs can occupy the same space.
ITALIC - lowers the character to the bottom
of the line and makes it transparent so that additional glyphs can occupy the same space.
BOLD, ITALIC - keeps the character in the
center of the line and makes it transparent so that additional glyphs can occupy the same space.
Simply using these common Word
commands, blocks of glyphs, such as those shown below, can be easily created.
In addition, individual
characters can be reversed, widened, narrowed, moved up, moved down, colored red/black or rendered in full color, enlarged
or reduced in size, using standard Word commands. In short, the EZGlyph fonts can be used to create virtually any hieroglyphic text. However, ProGlyph automates many of the operations required, making it both easier and quicker.
And because EZGlyph is part of a complete
system that uses only standard Word commands, any text created with EZGlyph can be read
without any loss or distortion in any word document, provided the EZGlyph fonts are installed.
